Rod Cameron, in the studio
Rod paints palms, landscapes and dancers in thick, bright colour. I spent the session in his Berlin studio photographing all of it: Rod himself, Rod at the easel, the palette and the room, and the finished canvases, straight and true to colour.

THE BRIEF
Not just a portrait
Rod is being featured in a major art magazine and needed pictures for it: of him, of how he works, and of the paintings themselves. So the session moved through all of it, while he painted as he normally does.
From everything we made, Rod chose sixteen frames. That mix, the person, the making, the room and the work, became the idea for my studio visits.
